Residential Support Staff

The Plymouth Area Coalition is looking to add Residential Support Staff to our growing team. Residential Support Staff are vital to the successful operation of the Coalition and our programs. In this role, Residential Staff work to ensure a supportive, welcoming environment for all clients.

These responsibilities include;

  • Maintaining the safety and security of the shelter, enforce shelter rules
  • Smooth Functioning of the shelter during assigned shift
  • Communicate and document personal observations, concerns regarding client behaviors to appropriate staff.
  • Monitor shelter security including parking lot, surveillance cameras, doors, etc.
  • Maintain privacy of clients in accordance with Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless policies, and as required by law.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations, document and communicate appropriately in accordance with the Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless Employee Handbook
  • Reports To: Re-housing Case Manager

Qualifications of Residential Support Staff:

  • High school diploma required
  • Highest level of professionalism and integrity with clients, fellow staff members and the general public
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  • Must bring a positive attitude and work well with teammates

Re-housing Case Manager

The Rehousing Case Manager is a full-time position providing shelter support through comprehensive assessment of each program participant needs, individual case management, and re-housing support. Our goal is to assist homeless families in identifying self-sustainable, stable housing opportunities.

Schedule:  40 Hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00am through 4:00pm

Qualifications:   2-5 years of direct care and/or a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field.  Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities:          

1. Implementation and facilitation of the DHCD Re-housing Plan program objectives, including:

a)     Case Management of all shelter guests (i.e. Intake/Goal setting meetings, weekly and individual group meetings, progress notes, and maintenance of case records.)

2. Enforce shelter rules

3. Advocate for employment/educational needs for families, and participate in case conferencing with related agencies.

4. Assistance with daily living skills, (i.e. Budgeting, parenting, time management, nutritional planning, health and hygiene skills)

5. Intake and orientation of new guests

6. Implementation and facilitation of the DHCD Stabilization Plan for guests leaving shelter.

7. Supervision of residential staff.

8. Other duties assigned by the Executive Director

9. Rotating On-Call schedule
